The 2008-2010 focus of the Commission on Justice and Peace is on contributing to a theological dialogue on Faith and a Sustainable Economy. Beside an annual Forum on Faith and a Sustainable Economy, the Commission supports the work of sub-groups who are working on related issues. These include
- The G8 G20 Interfaith Partnership including the themes of addressing poverty, care for our Earth, and investing in peace.
- The Human Trafficking in Canada working group. See their web page in this section for information on their work.
- Poverty in Canada is a long-term preoccupation of The Canadian Council of Churches. See the Poverty in Canada web page in this section for details.
In past years, the Commission on Justice and Peace has participated in the work of MESA: The Movement for Economic Solidarity in the Americas, and a North America churches’ consultation on Economic Globalization.
