On Wednesday, February 25, at 10:00am Eastern Time (note the time), the World Council of Churches is hosting a 90-minute webinar titled “The risks of artificial general intelligence: how should faith communities respond?” The expert panel will examine the risks of the AI arms race between the USA and China; whether the international rules based order can limit these developments; and how faith communities can respond to this race.
The panellists are:
- Dr. Max Tegmark, president and co-founder of the Future of Life Institute;
- Rev. Dr. Antje Jackelén, former archbishop and primate of the Church of Sweden;
- Rev. Dr. Kenneth Mtata, WCC Director of Life, Justice, and Peace; and
- Dr. Brian Green, director of Technology Ethics at the Markkula Centre for Applied Ethics.
