3 Ways to Create New Opportunities for Young Adults this Giving Tuesday

Dear friends,

Youth are not our future, they are (and must be) our present.

As a Council, we have been working throughout our current Triennium (2021-24) to do a better job of inviting and joining young adults in their faith journey. For the second year in a row, we’ve welcomed youth members to our Governing Board. We’ve also employed 6 young adult Research and Program Assistants since the start of the triennium.

Along the way, we’ve been learning that bringing young adults to the table isn’t about what we have to offer, it’s about learning from and listening to what these new voices have to offer, even when it means changing the way we do things or the way we think about ecumenism. This has been such a fruitful process.

But there’s still so much more to learn and work towards!

This Giving Tuesday, we are asking you to partner with us in this work by helping us maintain and expand the number of Research and Program Assistantships we offer.

Without your support, it would not be possible for us to provide unique opportunities for new leaders to work alongside Canada’s faith and justice communities. These Assistantships allow emerging ecumenists to be mentored by experienced faith leaders and make a powerful contribution to the priorities of Canadian faith communities who belong with The Canadian Council of Churches.

3 Ways to Help Create New Opportunities for Young Adult Leaders

If this is a cause you feel passionate about, please consider supporting us in one or more of the following ways:

  1. Pray for our youth members, that God would grant them courage, wisdom, and discernment as they seek to lead with integrity and grace.
  2. Join our “Youth and Young Adult Faith Leadership” Charitable Giving Group. This is a designated space where you can give directly to this campaign and stay updated on progress we make in the area of youth and young adults. It also allows you to see and network with others giving to the cause.
  3. Give direction to the “Youth and Young Adult Faith Leadership” Charitable Giving Group. You can make a one-time contribution, or set up a monthly recurring donation of $25 dollars or an annual $250 dollars donation. (You will instantly receive a charitable tax receipt from the Charitable Impact Foundation.)

Your support makes so much more possible in the work we do. Thank you for offering your time, talents, and prayers.

In Christ’s abundant love,

Peter Noteboom
