Dear members and friends,
As many of you have already heard, our General Secretary, Pastor Peter Noteboom, has indicated his intention to complete his service in this role as of June 30, 2026. Peter began serving as Acting General Secretary in 2017 and was appointed as General Secretary in May 2018. Since that time, Peter has served The Canadian Council of Churches faithfully and well, providing visionary leadership, diligent accountability, and unwavering commitment to the mission of the CCC.
At the November 2025 Governing Board meeting, a Selection Committee was established to search for and discern the next General Secretary. This committee is working to revise the job description and expects to be ready to post the position before the end of February 2026. If you or someone you know may be the ideal candidate whom God is calling to this ministry of ecumenical leadership, please watch for the posting and share it in your networks. We also ask for your prayers for the Selection Committee and for the candidates as we discern together.
